Tallinn administrative court

Tallinn administrative court started its activity in the restored Republic of Estonia on the 1st of October 1993. From the 1st of January 1994 Tallinn administrative court moved to the IV floor of the courthouse at Pärnu mnt 7. 

18 judges are employed in the administrative court at present. The following fall within the competence of the administrative court: adjudication of disputes in public law and grant of permission to take administrative measures in the cases provided by law. Adjudication of other matters also may be placed within the competence of administrative courts by law. Up to the 1st of January 2001 administrative judges adjudicated also matters of administrative offence. The Code of Administrative Offence was amended by the Code of Administrative Court Procedure Implementation Act and since the 1st of January 2001 the matters of administrative offence shall be in the jurisdiction of county and city courts.
